This website is both a portfolio and personal reflection of my work in Mr. Hill's course, Communications Technology 12. On this page, you will be able to find pieces of the work I have done in this class as well as some personal tidbits about me and my life! I hope you will find some of the things I say to be valuable or at least interesting enough to read through fully.
For me, when I was first choosing my grade 12 courses at the end of grade 11, my original choice for a technology credit was Broadcast Journaling 12. Unfortunately, though, the class wasn't being offered this year (it was most likely due to being too niche. shaking my head) and I got put in Communications Tech 12 instead. I wasn't too sure about how I felt about the class at first, but I did eventually end up enjoying my time in it! I learned valuable creative skills that I probably wouldn't have otherwise, and it was a class that I greatly appreciate as many of the things that were covered have unfortunately started to phase out or become obsolete due to widespread usage of A.I. I believe in the importance of human art and creativity; this course taught me ways to use creativity in both professional environments and my day-to-day life. The units I enjoyed the most were Graphic Design, Photography, and HTML, which is actually what I built this website for!
Overall, my time in Communications Tech 12 has been pleasant. While I did struggle with some of the coursework, it acted as a learning as a learning experience for me instead of a stressful one, and many parts of learning creative skills is about trial and error rather than attempting to achieve perfection first try. Thank you Mr. Hill!
